A roguelike game created in a platform shooter convention. In Neon Abyss, we cross randomly generated undergrounds and fight hordes of enemies. As we progress, we increase our combat potential through the acquisition of increasingly powerful weapons and skills.
Neon Abyss is a roguelike game, maintained in the convention of the action platformer. The game was developed by an independent Veewo Games studio.
In Neon Abyss players take control of one of the heroes traversing the dangerous underworld. The protagonists are trying to find at all costs a way to remove the curse that made them immortal.
Before players begin their adventure in Neon Abyss, they choose one of several characters that differ in of appearance and skills. During the game, one observes the action from the side perspective. When traversing the procedurally generated locations, players jump between platforms, avoid traps and eliminate hordes of opponents (led by powerful bosses).
The creators provided an extensive arsenal of firearms and futuristic guns like laser rifles. In addition, as players progress, they gain items that provide them with a variety of ive skills, the effects of which can be freely mixed with each other. Eggs have also been scattered underground, and animal companions with special abilities are hatched and their potential increases as they level up.
If the player gets killed, he or she can go back to the Day's End bar, where they prepare for the next playthrough. It should be ed that every death leads to changes in the layout of locations arranged in a clever labyrinth; over time, players unlock new rooms offering previously unavailable items and challenges. All this is complemented by mini-games involving, among other things, dancing or even playing the piano.
Neon Abyss has colorful, two-dimensional visuals made in pixel art technique. One their adventure, players are accompanied by a dynamic soundtrack created by the Chinese composer Min He.

Game Ratings for Neon Abyss Video Game.
Digital Chumps: 8.7 / 10 by Ben Sheene
Borrowing from greats like Binding of Isaac and Dead Cells, Neon Abyss throws every type of weird ability and gun imaginable at players, making for a roguelike not lacking in substance but strangely missing a touch of style.
PC Invasion: 7.5 / 10
Neon Abyss' emphasis on thriving, not surviving is a breath of fresh air in a subgenre defined by struggle. It's chaotic, cathartic gameplay is a welcome surprise and unique take on the formula.
Cubed3: 7 / 10 by Drew Hurley
Those who love The Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon will find an awful lot to like here. The gameplay is fast and fluid, the presentation striking, and there is a huge amount to keep coming back for. There are tons of things to unlock that change up subsequent runs, unique seeds to master the most enjoyable versions of levels, and even an insanely challenging difficulty mode to unlock. The biggest issue is the small amount of rooms to pull from when generating a stage. It's not too noticeable for a few play-throughs, but for the players who will run this over and over, it really detracts from the experience.
