Future of GTA creator's project is uncertain. MindsEye takes over its key technologies
The future of the ambitious Everywhere platform from the former GTA creator has come into question. Apparently, the output of this project has been taken over by MindsEye, a new title from the studio headed by Leslie Benzies.

The ambitious project MindsEye, the latest project of the Build A Rocket Boy studio, founded by Leslie Benzies, the creator of the Grand Theft Auto series.
At the beginning of this week, the team confirmed that the "Arcadia creation set" - originally developed as the foundation for Everywhere - has been integrated with MindsEye and is currently operating under the names Build.MindsEye (referring to the toolkit that allows players to "create their own games") and Play.MindsEye (referring to the platform through which these contents can be shared with other s). Thus, the game, which was initially supposed to be just one of many within Everywhere, has become an independent and apparently key project of the company.
Even though the Build A Rocket Boy team hasn't officially announced abandoning their flagship project, all signs point to it being phased out. This is evidenced by the fact that the official Everywhere page redirects to the MindsEye website.
Since there's still a lot of speculation going on, Video Games Chronicle reached out to Build a Rocket Boy to get some clarification about the status of Everywhere. In response, the studio spokesperson revealed that the Arcadia toolkit created for Everywhere has become part of MindsEye, and the beta tests of the game platform were used in the work on this second project.
As with all new products, things evolve. Arcadia was originally envisioned as our creation platform, but as we continued developing MindsEye and building out BARB’s ecosystem, it naturally grew into something more focused - Play.MindsEye and Build.MindsEye - explained the studio representative.
VGC journalists asked for more details, but at the time of publishing this news, they haven't received any response yet.
How did it start and where is it heading?
We first heard about Everywhere in 2017, but specific information about the project only appeared in 2023. At that time, Build A Rocket Boy studio promised that it would be an ambitious project combining gaming, social space, and content creation tools. One of the main components of this game platform was the aforementioned Arcadia toolkit, allowing players to create their own experiences, from simple assets to full-fledged productions with advanced gameplay mechanics.
At the same time, the studio also announced that it is working on MindsEye: a separate action-adventure game with an open world, which will be available exclusively on the Everywhere platform. However, in October last year, it was announced that the company IO Interactive would release MindsEye as a standalone game.
MindsEye will be released on June 10, 2025. The title will be available on PC, PS5, and XSX/S. Recently, the devs shared a new trailer presenting the gameplay and revealed the game's development plans.
