Nintendo Switch 2’s wildest theory yet, upside-down Joy-Cons and flippable display
Switch 2 speculations are getting out of hand, but what do we actually know? This latest one might be the best meme material so far.

possible upgraded Joy-Cons for the original Switch. But now, a new theory is making the rounds suggesting that Switch 2’s display can be flipped by rotating the console and the Joy-Cons can be connected into opposite ends. If true, that could be a real game-changer.
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
The new Nintendo patent drawings suggest that Switch 2 might let us attach Joy-Cons upside down, allowing the whole console to be used in an inverted position. This would be possible thanks to the Switch 2’s controllers attaching via side slots, secured by strong magnets. The display would automatically flip 180 degrees when Joy-Cons are connected this way.
That means we could choose whether the headphone jack and USB ports are at the top or bottom. Finally! No more uncomfortable positions while playing on your knees while the console is charging. I always wondered why Nintendo didn’t think of this earlier, like Valve did with the Steam Deck.
But riddle me this: if that's true, why do Joy-Cons have distinct colors that match the sides of the console, along with + and - symbols to prevent mixing them up? To me, it just seems like another wild theory. For now, let’s focus on more likely possibilities – like playing Civilization 7 on Switch 2.
Well, at least this gives us some fresh meme material. One of my favorite takes on this theory is simply calling it ‘The Australian Switch 2.’
From the first-look trailer, the only thing we know for sure is that there are two USB ports. The real mystery for me is whether we’ll need both at the same time – like charging in TV Dock while using another for a camera, maybe? All will be clear on April 2nd.
