Today, the second weekend for we have a guide for you.

ReMatch hits over 100 thousand players on the first day of its second closed beta weekend

ReMatch is the next game from Sloclap, the developers of Sifu, a popular indie beat ‘em up from 2022. Fans have begun to popularize the nickname “FIFU” as a play on Sifu and FIFA, the popular EA soccer game series. Apparently, this was such a popular name that one of ReMatch’s control schemes, one that mirrors FIFA’s controls, was named FIFU within the game’s menus. The current closed beta is planned to run through the weekend, starting today, April 18th, and continuing through Sunday, April 20th.

Videos and clips of ReMatch have grown in popularity over the last week, after the first closed beta weekend ended. Many interested players likely signed up during this week after they missed the first beta, and now the floodgates have opened. The full game already has a planned release date for June 19th, 2025, which isn’t that far away. If the level of interest can remain consistent over the next few months, Sloclap could have a huge hit on their hands.

ReMatch is already available for pre-order, with a Standard Edition set at $29.99. Ten dollars more will get you the Pro Edition, and another ten dollars on top of that will get you the Elite Edition, which each grant three days of Advanced Access. Several games have had who got Advanced Access anyway. But that’s definitely not something to rely on.

ReMatch seems to be tapping into some of the same aesthetics of another huge multiplayer game, Rocket League. The sleek aesthetics and challenging gameplay with small teams has already led many people to call ReMatchRocket League without the cars.” This is a great joke but also has a lot of truth to it. The satisfaction of pulling off an incredible goal could be what keeps players coming back for more.
