S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl received a 1.4 update. GSC Game World studio has released a long list of changes in a post that you can read on Steam. The new patch includes important changes, like fixing the issue with bloody sausages and shot ducks flying into the water.

Jokes aside (although these are actual improvements highlighted by the Ukrainian developer), version 1.4 brings further important changes to the "second" STALKER. The creators made a lot of improvements to the missions, including fixing issues with non-interactive or non-speaking NPCs, closed or bugged quests (even those from traders). There were also modifications to the game balance.

More (in)human enemies

The most important changes should be considered further improvements to the living world of Heart of Chornobyl, including the behavior of other stalkers and mutants. These last ones will finally feed on (un)fresh corpses and may become alert due to nearby events, approaching objects, or creatures. More "ordinary" faces have also been added for people to limit the invasion of clones.

The devs also improved the behavior of human inhabitants of the Zone. Now they're using trees for cover, and the hiding animations are better. Besides, enemies communicate in fights and make better use of both grenades and melee weapons, as well as flanking and kicking crouching opponents. For balance, the use of shotguns like sniper rifles by some people was reduced. Similarly, the behavior of mutants was improved, both in combat and outside of it.

Patch 1.4 brings technical fixes like better facial animations and sound effects, as well as further improvements to the game's performance and interface. This includes a better display of weapon stats in the inventory and adding important character stats in the trading menu.

You can find the full list of changes in will receive a free upgrade on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
