ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun is a dynamic arcade game developed by the independent Canadian studio ThirtyThree. On PC the game is available as RunGunJumpGun.

Story

ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun takes the players on a journey to the Extax star system, whose fate hangs by the hair when its star began to expand and swallow subsequent planets. The main reason for the cataclysm seem to be the so-called Atomics, the basic resource used by inhabitants of the entire system. The player takes on the role of a garbage man who travels the world in search of this precious resource.

Mechanics

In ATOMIC: RunGunJumpGun we observe action from the side. One hundred and twenty levels located in three different environments await us in the game. In the course of the game we not only acquire Atomics but also avoid deadly obstacles and traps and fight against hordes of enemies. The key to success is, therefore, skillful maneuvering, which requires a lot of reflexes and perceptiveness.

Thankfully, the simple controls are a little bit easier - while one button enables the protagonist to shoot directly below (which enables the protagonist to float above the surface), with the second button we fire in front of us, eliminating the dangers that we face on the road. In the event of the hero's death, the player can exepct a quick respawn, and thus - a quick return to the action.

Game modes

In addition to the basic game mode, ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun has a Marathon Mode, in which the players fight for the highest number of points in order to be able to boast of their results on the online leaderboard. Owners of the Nintendo Switch edition have another module (Shield Mode), where they can use a special shield to protect the hero from damage and make use of bullet time.

Technical aspects

In of audiovisuals, ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun presents itself very similarly on all platforms - visuals were maintained in a neon style and made in the pixel art technique, and during the game we are accompanied by an electronic soundtrack.
