A funny two-dimensional point & click adventure in which the explosive mixture consists of: a resolute young man, a brilliant scientist and a complex black character.
An adventure game referring by its performance to the cult positions of the genre, such as Sam & Max Hit the Road or Day of the Tentacle. The program has been released in our country in the Polish language version, including both subtitles and dialogues.
In the game we play the teenage Bud Tucker, who, apart from the fact that he distributes delicious pizza, also helps the local professor in his work on not entirely normal inventions. Unfortunately, however, the last work of the scientist - a huge duplication machine - attracted the attention of a rogue named Dick Tate, who intends to take control of the world by means of it. How? By creating billions of copies of yourself and populating the planet with them. Playing the role of the title character, we set off on a mission to save the world.
The work of Merit Studios is based on the classic "point & click" interface and is dominated by ubiquitous humour. Thanks to the colorful graphic design, you can even say that the player has the impression of participating in a funny cartoon movie. The way of conducting the game depends on visiting individual locations of the virtual entourage, finding various objects and their logical use. Conversations with encountered characters are also very important, even betraying the details of a crazy plot.
An interesting fact is that we can interact with the environment in several ways. By default, we use special icons to manipulate objects, but nothing stands in the way of converting these images into plain text. As if that wasn't enough, we still have a mouse in the sucursor, whose right button switches the available actions (e.g. see, use, open). As you can see everyone will find something for themselves here, no matter if you are a fan of old LucasArts productions or rather a competitive Sierra.
The voices of the characters for the English version of the game were recorded, among others, by Rik Mayall, a well-known British comedy actor. The creators of the Polish version of the project approached their task with great care and, apart from professional dubbing, they even located subtitles appearing in the background of the location. Dialogs, as well as the rest of the game soundtrack on the disc was saved in wav format.
