Farming Simulator 2011 is another entry in popular series of – unsurprisingly – farming simulators, presenting agricultural activities in detail.
Game mechanics
Compared to previous games from the series, Farming Simulator 2011 for PC offers many new features and fixes. Nonetheless, the basic concept remains the same. Once again, we play as young farmer, who learns reality of farmer’s life step by step. We are given a 4 square kilometers area and must gather resources to establish a modern farm. Quite obviously, we earn those by farming, so we have to take care of cultivating land, sowing and harvesting. There are several tractors in local shop and all kinds of combines with different power, size and effectiveness, as well as over 30 other machines (ploughs, seeders, balers, cultivators, lawnmowers and trailers). Some of them can be controlled by an A.I., assisting us in some tasks. A huge novelty is introduction of cattle breeding. It requires feeding cows on a regular basis, but let us gather natural fertilizer, as well as milk for sale.
Game modes
Farming Simulator 2011 for PC offers an improved career mode, in which start with poorly equipped, outdated farm. But we don’t have to develop it by ourselves, thanks to the multiplayer that lets a few players look over a single farm. There is also a long tutorial consisting of a few missions, letting new players learn basis of the game.
Technical aspects
Farming Simulator 2011 offer visibly enhanced visuals compared to its predecessors. Interestingly, game’s engine makes use of PhysX physics system, along well-known features like realistic day and night system and various weather conditions. Additionally, complex editors let us create and quickly install any additional modifications.
Misc.
Thanks to cooperation with AGCO (owner of Wendt franchise), developers could implement licensed tractors and combines. There are also tool of companies like Poettinger, Vogel & Noot, Deutz-Fahr, Krone or Horsch.
