The third instalment of the classic and extremely demanding series of platformers. In Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, the players take on the role of the valiant Arthur, a lonely knight wandering through a dangerous fantasy world inhabited by countless demonic and magical creatures.
Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is a classic 2D fantasy platformer focused on fighting with enemies. The game was developed by the Japanese company Capcom. The game was developed to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the release of Ghosts 'n Goblins, the first instalment of the series, which came to the arcade in 1985. The game is also inspired by its sequel Ghouls 'n Ghosts, which was published three years later. Both games have been relaunched many times on different hardware platforms.
In Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection we take on the role of a brave knight named Arthur. His mission is to save a princess who has been kidnapped and imprisoned by a demon lord. However, before the hero reaches the place, he will have to travel a long way and destroy countless evil minions, including all kinds of undead and other fantastic creatures.
The gameplay model of Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is very similar to the first two games in the series. So we are dealing here with a classic 2D platformer, in which we are going through a series of linear levels ended with boss fights. The maps are filled with enemies, with whom we fight with the lance thrown by the hero. When we are surrounded, we can also avoid them by jumping sideways.
Arthur's life bar is his armour, which he loses completely after one or more enemy attacks. At the very end, the hero stays in the boxers, so after another with the enemy we end the game and have to start again.
The series is known to challenge even the most ardent fans of platformers. In its new version, the developers did not want to abandon this tradition. However, due to the less experienced players, they have implemented three difficulty levels, which determine the maximum number of attacks that a hero can receive before he dies.
Ghosts'n Goblins Resurrection has a colourful 2D graphic design made in a comic book style, recalling the graphic style of the originals. There is also an intensive soundtrack.

Game Ratings for Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection Video Game.
VG247: 4 / 5 by Alex Donaldson
I’m not sure I’m yet at the point where I’ll be able to play Ghosts ‘n Goblins with the proficiency that so wowed me to witness as a child. But playing it always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling that’s entirely at odds with the fiendishly challenging, unforgiving nature of Knight Arthur’s adventure. It’s an all-time classic, and seeing such a game resurrected so lovingly on new platforms is always welcome.
GameSpot: 4 / 10 by Mike Epstein
Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is an honest, faithful homage to a series known for being so difficult, it's nearly unplayable.
Game Rant: 3 / 5 by Cameron Corliss
All told, the nostalgia rush of reliving a classic game is enough to make Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection a worthwhile experience, but the game's underwhelming design decisions may make some players bust out an NES Classic to enjoy the original Ghosts 'n Goblins instead. It has some unique concepts of its own, but those can only carry it so far.
