Continuation of a very warmly acclaimed racing game, focusing on a realistic representation of vehicle behaviour on the track. Gran Turismo 2 on PS1 is a continuation of acclaimed racing game that focuses on a realistic representation of vehicle behavior on the track. Like the first part, Gran Turismo 2 was developed by Polyphony Digital led by Kazunori Yamauchi.

Mechanics

Gran Turismo 2, released on PS1, uses the same physical and graphical engine as the original, introducing only minor improvements to the driving system. The most noticeable change is in the brakes, which are much less likely to cause oversteering of the vehicle. The game has new rally tracks, where cars behave noticeably different than on the asphalt.

The continuation of Gran Turismo offers more vehicles and routes. We can drive over six hundred cars, based on licenses obtained from companies such as Honda, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Lotus, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Toyota or Nissan. Each of these vehicles can be tested in twenty-seven locations around the world.
