After a series of electronic productions under the Initial D sign, the new version once again takes the player on Japanese roads to race around the art of drifting. Street Stage is a direct conversion of the automatic edition, known as Arcade Stage and improved by Version 3 released in 2004.

The philosophy of the game is not too complicated and consists in the fact that the player's four-wheeled spitting with fire is faster than the counterparts belonging to road rivals. Compared to the original, the whole arcade mode was imported with the characters, cars and routes. Inspiration was also drawn from the version created for Sony Playstation 2 console, where innovative gameplay elements were ed. New ideas have, of course, been added to this mix.

An effective supplementation on the route is ensured by the card system used in the program. For each victory in a duel with a competing driver, the player receives one of three types of cards. The first one allows you to get information about other players, the next one - battle, allows you to challenge a direct duel of a particular rival. However, the most important is the third and also the last one, because thanks to it, it is possible to tune one's own car, which has a significant impact on the development of events on the screen. In total, there are about two hundred different cards to collect.
