Max Payne 3 for PC, PS3 and X360 is another installment in the game series started by Remedy Studios (also known for Alan Wake). This time the game was prepared by one of the subsidiaries of Rockstar company, the creators of such titles as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Bully. The developer sought to preserve the characteristic atmosphere of the original games, while expanding the universe of Max Payne.

Story

New adventures of the titular character take place several years after the events of the previous games. Max, an ex-cop with a stormy past, spends his free time loitering around bars and avoiding trouble. Unfortunately, problems, as they do, find him anyway. As a result of an unpleasant incident in New York, Payne goes to Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, and takes a job of a bodyguard for an extremely rich family. It turns out that this seemingly straightforward job will require Max to use all of his abilities.

I Don't Get the Uncharted Phenomenon

Uncharted is one of the most appreciated series. In theory, it should appeal to me, too, because I appreciate good, linear action games. Unfortunately, there was a lot that didn't sit right with me, which is why I can't understand the phenomenon.

When we hear a vocal track during a dramatic final confrontation, we are confused. It’s something unnatural, and it makes us focus on the sound much more than during regular background music. Let’s take a look at some memorable examples.

Max Payne 3 is a solid game made for the PC, with incredible visuals and sound to go along with that. This is a no brainer for any action shooter fan out there. If you have not tried this legendary series yet, then Max Payne 3 is a perfect introduction.

Cubed3: 5 / 10

Max Payne's third (and final) journey into the night just doesn't have the right to call itself worthy of its name. Max Payne 3's biggest problem, however, is the fact that, even if you can stomach the change in direction, writing, and - once strong - visual style, this simply is too repetitive for it to be any fun. The production values are insane, but they simply can't save this from being this bundle of mediocrity that it is.
