Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact for PSP is another game based on the popular anime series Naruto. Published by Bandai Namco and set in the universe familiar to the fans the series, the game is filled with dynamic action, 1vs1 duels and encounters involving more fighters. The game was developed exclusively for PlayStation Portable.
Plot
In the TV series, a young ninja by the name of Naruto is the protagonist. Naruto wishes to become the best fighter, thus he begins difficult training sessions and fights subsequent enemies, who would very much like to tear him apart. Once a great war outbreaks, the player is thrown into the midst of events. The plot here encomes many episodes of the anime series, thus the fans of Naruto will encounter some familiar characters, but also visit different places from the TV series, as well as navigate the battles they watched on TV.
Mechanics
The game offers over 20 playable characters that can be developed according to the player's liking. The controls are simple and it is not difficult to perform special attacks. The experience was divided into several modes. In Story Battle, the player goes through events from the TV series once they have chosen a character. In the traditional Versus Battle on the other hand, the player takes part in 1 vs 1 duels, either against the AI or a living opponent. When playing Tag Battle, two players have to cooperate over the course of 20 missions.
Technical aspects
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact for PSP offers solid visuals. The creators used cel-shading, thus the game resembles the anime series in of the visuals. New camera angles were also included, which are used when fighting bosses – this was designed to deliver the player with new gameplay experiences.
Two players can enjoy the game at the same time. The in-game characters were voiced-over by performers who worked on the Naruto anime series.
