The highly anticipated multiplayer roguelite standalone spinoff of FromSoftware’s there are some potential solutions if you are experiencing those problems. However, a handful of players on the Steam discussions page are experiencing issues with matchmaking.

Matchmaking issues in Elden Ring Nightreign: Is it broken? Or is it something else?

Elden Ring Nightreign is a multiplayer game. It’s best designed for a group of three players working together to take on some of the most challenging bosses FromSoftware has to offer. However, you can also play solo. In Gamepressure’s review, Maciej Bogusz wrote, “I tested out solo play a few times, and honestly, it seems like it needs a bit more balancing.” You can read our full review for more thoughts on Elden Ring Nightreign. If players don’t want to play solo or only have one other friend to , they will need to find other players to up with.

On the Elden Ring Nightreign Steam discussions page, there are numerous posts from players looking for others to their group. You can opt to create a group within the game or the matchmaking queue to be randomly matched with other players. However, some players find themselves waiting in a queue for a considerable amount of time. Some players already consider the matchmaking to be broken. Currently, there is no response from Bandai Namco or FromSoftware about a solution to this problem.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s matchmaking could be broken. The three hundred thousand players on Steam may all be in three-person friend groups. Not many players have been encouraged to try playing solo or adding random players to their team, as there is no in-game chat function to communicate. There could be far more two-player groups looking for a third than solo players entering matchmaking. Given that FromSoftware has already felt the need to apologize for neglecting a two-player option for Nightreign, it could have given interested solo players enough warning to avoid the game for now. Or maybe play alone and try their luck against the challenging bosses.
