A dark storm gathers across Limveld. Make your preparations, Nightfarers. The official release schedule of Elden Ring: Nightreign is now available - we read in the post published on X.
Before the countdown to the launch ends, it's worth ing the time with some behind-the-scenes info about the making of the game. The director, Junya Ishizaki, recently shared some interesting stuff.
In a conversation with IGN, the developer recalled, among other things, the advice he received at the start of work from the head of FromSoftware and at the same time the creator of Elden Ring, Hidetaki Miyazaki. It turns out that the dev advised him not to hold back but to realize his vision. Next, Ishizaki described how, within this creative freedom, he began deg the game around the multiplayer aspect, which deviates from what we know of the original.
For more solo play oriented games such as Elden Ring, of course we're taking a lot of things into such as the stages, how the enemies are laid out and designed, the wide breadth of player builds and equipment as well. So this time the approach is a little bit different and we are trying to cater to a fun experience with three people. So making sure the experience is fun at its core with a group of three, but it also doesn't collapse if it's a solo player as well.
Ishizaki itted that although the game focuses on playing in three-person teams, solo gameplay will still be possible.
Seeing as this game is built around three players, we understand the concerns of those solo players, but essentially a lot of the time in Nightreign you will be acting and behaving on your own. Even in a group as three, you'll be going off and challenging different areas of the map and collecting different things before you accumulate together at the boss fight.
During the conversation, the topic of two-person mode also came up. What's interesting, the director itted that the lack of duo gameplay is due to it being "overlooked" during the game development process. Nevertheless, FromSoftware is considering introducing such a mode after the game's release.
The simple answer is that this is simply something that was overlooked during development as just a two-player option, so we're very sorry about that. […] we neglected the duos aspect, but this is something that we are looking at and considering for post-launch - announced the creator.
