PoE 2 update 0.2.0 introduces new classes, items and changes to Atlas
Update 0.2.0 will introduce new Ascendancy classes to Path of Exile 2. The developers also revealed more unique items and changes to the Atlas tree.

The big changes in the Towers. Now it's time for another dose of information.
New Ascendancy classes
The devs confirmed that the 0.2.0 update will introduce several new Ascendancy classes, which will be a huge novelty. Currently in PoE 2 there are 6 character classes available, and each of them has 2 subclasses out of the planned 3. The new version will fill at least some of the gaps and should significantly increase the potential number of builds.
Unfortunately, we don't know what these classes will be, but an illustration depicting the first one has already been revealed. You can see it above, at the beginning of the text. According to the players, this is a subclass for the Mercenary character, capable of summoning companions to fight and giving them orders. The provided description also indicates this:

Unique items
GGG also revealed two more unique items that we will be able to find in PoE 2 after the release of the 0.2.0 update.
- Prism Guardian - a shield that provides +1 maximum Spirit for every 50 maximum health we have. Besides, it increases armor, magic shield, agility, and resistance to elements.
- The Deepest Tower - a helmet that makes nearby enemies treated as if they had low life status. Moreover, it provides increased armor, a magic shield, maximum life, and resistance to chaos.
Players pay particular attention to this second item, claiming that in combination with several bonuses to damage dealt to low-health opponents, it can be extremely powerful.
Changes in the Atlas tree
The last presented new feature is the expanded Atlas tree. As shown in the image below, additional points have been added to the lower left part. Unfortunately, at the moment we don't know what specific bonuses the new upgrades will provide.

According to the developers, the 0.2.0 update should be released later this month. However, the exact date is not known.
