In the response sent to us by CD Projekt Red regarding the question about the new DLC for The Witcher 3, they wrote:

We do not comment on rumors or speculation.

So, all we can do now is wait for the studio's official statement or a possible expansion announcement.

Original news (June 12th, 12:40 am PT)

CD Projekt RED is currently working on several projects, and some of them are still shrouded in mystery. However, it seems that one of them might be a new story expansion to The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The Witcher 3 new expansion

The source of information is the latest episode of the Rock and Borys podcast, hosted by Remigiusz Maciaszek and Borys Niespielak. The gentlemen confirmed in "several independent sources" that the studio founded by the former developers of The Witcher 3 - Fool's Theory - is currently working on a story DLC for Wild Hunt.

Now, a very important point. We have to separate what we know from what we don't know. We know that this is a DLC for The Witcher 3. I've come across one piece of information, though I can't confirm it any further, that the earliest release would be next year. We also have a rough idea of the release order: first, The Witcher 1 Remake.

As for the things that the hosts don't know: the length of the DLC, its price, and the release date. This information was obtained by Remigiusz Maciaszek, who was quite surprised that no one had talked about it before - he himself had known about it for quite some time.

That's had to be confirmed, and for me the key moment was when, during the quarter results, CD Projekt said that they are working on an unannounced project with Fool’s Theory.

Unfortunately, the content of the expansion also remains unknown. The guys are guessing that maybe it will somehow be related to The Witcher 4, which could encourage players to buy the sequel. The DLC could serve as a kind of link between both games.

It must be itted that this would be quite a treat for all fans of The Witcher 3. Let's that these are unconfirmed rumors, so take them with a grain of salt. We have already sent a request to CD Projekt RED asking for a comment - as soon as we find out more, we will immediately let you know.
