When can you start the Brushes with Death DLC?

1. The story of the Brushes with Death DLC is not available from the very beginning of the game. You cannot do it immediately after finishing the prologue and unlocking access to free exploration of the Trosky region.
2. You must first complete the main quest For Whom the Bell Tolls. This is a quest in which you save Capon - after it you unlock access to Trosky Castle. This requirement is not random, because the most important new character from the DLC will spend most of the time in this castle and you need access to its rooms.

How to unlock the DLC?

1. Start by checking the game version (1.3 or newer) and whether the DLC has been correctly installed. You can easily check this in the main menu - the game should display information that you have access to this particular DLC.

1. After fulfilling the requirement regarding progress in the main plot, a purple DLC quest marker will appear southeast of Trosky Castle - we have marked it on the attached image.

1. Reach the marked location - watch a cut-scene and you will meet the painter Voyta. In this way, you can start the first DLC quest - A Sketchy Situation. You will find its detailed walkthrough in our guide.

Does the DLC require a high-level Henry?

1. The Brushes with Death DLC does not require a high-level character. You don't have to wait to start the DLC until you finish the main storyline or heavily develop Henry.
2. Some preparations are still advisable, though. The DLC starts with a mandatory fight with wolves, and in subsequent quests it may be necessary to, e.g. deal with a group of bandits. We recommend taking care of basic equipment and Combat Training I, as well as unlocking a mount. This will make it easier for you to complete DLC quests and reach quest locations.
3. The action of the expansion will ultimately move to the second region - Kuttenberg. So it's worth taking care of completing the main mission Storm in advance, thanks to which you will unlock access to the second map.
