Kingdom Come 2 Brushes with Death: Unveiling and DLC endings

The finale of the Brushes with Death DLC storyline in Kingdom Come 2 comes around in the Unveiling quest. Our walkthrough explains where to find Master Planck, how to get to the bandit camp, how to retrieve the Mother Mary statuette, and whether it is worth freeing Chrudosh. Additionally, we have included descriptions of all DLC endings, which are influenced by an important choice in a conversation with the painter Voyta.

How to unlock the last quest?

1. You can start this quest after completing the Root of Evil quest, that is, after giving Voyta the mandrake potion.
2. Talk to Voyta and ask him if the Mandrake Decoction has helped him. You will be told to meet with the carpenters.

Where to find Master Planck in the carpentry workshop?

1. The carpenters' workshop is located in the western part of Kuttenberg. You're looking for Master Planck, who should work here during daytime hours.
2. Talk to the carpenter. You can use persuasion; a successful attempt will make it easier for you to learn about the state of things. You will find out that Chrudosh disappeared with the missing figurine. You'll have to find him, and you will find out that he is probably running with the bandits.

Where to find the carved figurine?

1. Your destination is the area southwest of the Ruins of Zimburg. More specifically, we're looking for a hut in the forest. Look inside to find Chrudosh's chisel.

1. A new search area will appear on the map and your goal will be to find the bandit camp. You can reach it on your own or let the dog sniff the chisel to start tracking Chrudosh. The dog can lead you to the bandits' hideout; we have marked this place on the screenshot above.

1. You should save the game before approaching the enemy location because bandits may attack Henry without warning.
2. You have 2 options here: defeating the bandits in direct combat or sneaking into the camp at night. The second variant will allow you to silently stun or kill bandits. Start with those who are not sleeping and are patrolling the area using torches.

1. Thoroughly search the body of the bandit leader (Reaper the bandit). You will find a key to the chest. Open it and grab the quest item: it's the Mother Mary statuette.

How to free Chrudosh?

1. In the camp, you will also find the imprisoned Chrudosh. Freeing him is optional. You have to stand behind him and untie the rope.
2. After listening to the carpenter's motivation, you have 2 options - you can arrest Chrudosh and take him to the mayor, or you can let Chrudosh escape and leave Kuttenberg.

1. Additional information - After you find Chrudosh, you can optionally return to the carpenters from Kuttenberg.
2. Talk about Chrudosh with journeyman Stihlau during the daytime hours. The rewards for this will be a hidden achievement, as well as 30 groschen, cheap wine, and a wooden duck.

Returning to Voyta and ending choice

1. After obtaining the Mother Mary statuette, return to the painter. While speaking with Voyta, you can initially choose any dialogue options about your relationship and reasons for helping him.
2. Eventually, there will be a choice determining the ending, shown in the attached screenshot. The DLC has 2 main endings and we have described them below.

Ending 1 - Voyta finishes his masterpiece

1. To get this ending, choose the dialogue option The devil isn't leading you, don't be afraid or Fine, do as you please, I don't care.
2. Voyta will finish the work and, according to the plan, will hand over his masterpiece to the monks.

Ending 2 - Voyta destroys his work

1. This is an alternative ending. You need to choose the following dialog option - Then don't finish it. Destroy it. Additionally, you have to the persuasion test to successfully convince the painter of this plan.
2. Voyta will cease further work and will burn his unfinished masterpiece.

What to do with the painter's muse?

1. If you chose ending 1 (Voyta finished his work), you can receive a gift from the artist - it is a quest item called the painter's muse. It may seem that this item has no use, but it is related to a hidden achievement.

1. Return to the grave of the real Voyta, which you found earlier in the quest God Disposes - it is on the edge of the forest east of the Burnt Mezholes location.
2. Use the shovel to dig up the grave and find the skeleton. Interact with it and place the painter's muse. You will receive a trophy for this. Optionally, you can return to the painter and tell him about delivering the skull - you will receive positive reputation points.
